By the way, Pokemon Go just announced a big summer update. Niantic, the popular mobile game’s developer, says Pokemon Go has been downloaded 750 million times to date! That’s more than double the entire U.S. population! Whether you like the game or not, one thing is undeniable. Pokemon Go brought the very concept of AR (Augmented Reality) to the masses. Unlike VR (Virtual Reality) that requires HMDs (Head-Mounted Displays, such as HTC Vive, PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR), AR can readily be deployed on mobile devices, hence the ability to reach the masses. Now with the capability for up to 20 people to play together, people will get a glimpse of what “Social AR” is. And with the recent launch of Apple’s ARKit, AR is well on its way to be the next disruption!
